David J. Anderson

David J. Anderson är en internationellt erkänd visionär inom ledning av teknikintensiva utvecklingsprojekt. Under 30 år har han hjälpt företag som Sprint, Motorola, and Microsoft introducera innovativa agila metoder i deras utvecklingsteam.

David har varit drivande i tillämpning av Lean och Kanban för att lösa många av de problem som utvecklingsteam ställs inför när de ska möta allt högre ställda krav. 2007 startade David organisationen Lean-Kanban University, som en plattform för kompetensutveckling inom området. Idag är han CEO för LeanKanban University och konsultbolaget David J. Anderson & Associates Inc.

David J. Anderson är också författare till tre tongivande böcker inom området: Agile Management for Software Engineering – Applying the Theory of Constraints for Business Results, Kanban – Successful Evolutionary Change for your Technology Business och Lessons in Agile Management: On the Road to Kanban.

  • Moving from a push system to a pull system by limiting Work in Progress (WIP)
  • Visualizing work so that work becomes transparent and bottlenecks become visible
  • Defining policies to foster team collaboration and self-organisation
  • Shaping demand so that it balances with the team capability
  • Hedging project risk with capacity allocation
  • Reducing cycle time and multitasking

Learning Goals

Participants will learn how to design a kanban system and initiate change with Kanban. They will learn the basic concepts of flow, pull, and collaborative improvement. At the end of the training, participants will understand:

  • How to identify and address bottlenecks
  • How to work with shifting priorities
  • How to deal with interrupt work and multi-tasking
  • How to deal with important but not time-critical work
  • How to avoid that work piles up in one place (or time) while there is a lack of work in another place
  • How to create flow in the work, the information to perform the work, and the teams that do the work

The class is presented in the form of intensive, non-technical exercises organised in small groups, games, classroom teaching and discussion.

Substitutions are accepted at any time. Cancellations must be notified by email and refunds will be provided according to the following:
More than 10 days prior = 80% of course fee
5 to 10 days prior = 50% of course fee
Less than 5 days = no refund provided
DJAA reserves the right to postpone or cancel this event if there are insufficient registrations or if presenters are unable to attend due to illness. If necessary, you will be notified no later than 7 days prior to the event and all registration payments will be refunded promptly.  If circumstances require, presenters may be substituted for alternative qualified presenters with equivalent experience.
